At a brief presser in Takoradi today Thursday 13th December, 2018, multiple award winning Artiste Kofi Kinaata and his Team Move Management officially launched the 2018 edition of the the Made in Taadi Concert.
Giving the details of the concert at the Anaji Choice Mart’s conference room, Public and Media Relations Officer of the Concert Nana Kwesi Coomson said “This year’s has an entirely different concept from last year’s. The 22nd December event are two parts; the first part which will span from 10am to 5pm will be for kids and their family. We call it the family day out. There are arrangements for kids corner for face painting, bouncy castles, lime and spoon competition amongst other interesting kids activities. Since the family day out will be both educative and entertaining, there would be exhibition booths to display the culture of the Western Region; narrating the history of the region, our chiefs, food, dance, festivals, music, past heroes and heroines amongst others.”
“There would also be resource personnel to talk to the kids on various subjects like ‘planning your study and social life,’ ‘how to start a business at an early stage,’ ‘how to have personal timetable,’ amongst others. The Children’s President, Funny Face and Kwadwo Nkansah Lil Win would be present to also engage the kids and parents in the first part of the concert. Award winning DJ Switch and Samuel Owusu, winner of Talented Kids will also be present.
There would also be a Fante essay competition by Students from upper primary to Junior High School on ‘Me Sekonde-Takoradze.’ This essay is for the Students to write in Fante about the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis and what they find interesting in the twin city as well as what they wish for the city. This essay should be handwritten and submitted physically or scanned and emailed to [email protected]. The winner will receive a cash prize as well some packages from the Team Move Management” Mr. Coomson added.
“The parents and guardians will also be engaged in activities like cooking competition with teachers and interacting with Kofi Kinaata and the Celebrities present. There is cash prize and other prizes for winners of the cooking competition as well. The second part of the concert will start at 6pm with musical performances from Kwesi Arthur, Donzy, Edem, Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin, Pastor Joe Beecham, Ras Kuku, B2, 10 Westside Legacy Artistes and of course Kofi Kinaata. Other Artistes are still checking their schedules to be sure that they would be present so you could count on the PR team for regular updates.
All of the two parts will be at the Takoradi Jubilee Park” he detailed.
The Western Regional Police Commander DCOP R.V. Djedjoe has assured the team of tight security at the event, as well as the Air force Commander.
The MCs for this year’s edition are Yoofi Eyeson, Chelsey Sey, Too Much, PM and Maame Esi Forson
Kofi Kinaata also added “As the PRO has said we have a new concept for this year. This is simply because my young fans always listen to my songs and watch my videos on TV and their devices but they hardly get time to personally interact with me. The reason is that most of the event that I host are late in the evening and they will be asleep or their parents would not allow them to be out by 10pm or 12am so I almost always get messages on social media from them asking me when I will come to their schools and homes. Since they are dear to me as well, I had to make sure that we include them in this year’s Made in Taadi Concert so they will spend time with me together their parents and teachers during the day.”
The media men present offered suggestions on how to make this year’s edition better and also applauded Kofi Kinaata and the team for this concert that projects the region at large.
